Kaia spent the first day at Disneyland in her stroller. She was asleep for most of the day, and when she wasn't, she wished she was. We ended up taking her to the ER that night because we just weren't sure what was wrong with her and she'd never acted that way before. The doctor told us it was an ear infection, reluctantly gave us some antibiotics because we were from out of town, (I guess they really don't give that stuff out anymore) and assured us kids like to sleep it off when their sick (he asked us if this was our first child - yes, we're clueless parents).
But everyday she started perking up more and more and we took her on a few rides. She loved It's a Small World. We even took her on Pirates of the Carribean. Her eyes were pretty wide during the couple of drops the boat took, but she seemed to think it was pretty cool. She slept through dinner at the Blue Bayou (her $12 mac and cheese went uneaten), but we thought it was great. She also liked the Jungle Cruise, Winnie the Pooh and Dumbo.
Kaia LOVED all of the characters we saw at Disneyland. I would have bet money that she would run the other way from anyone dressed up, but she was the complete opposite. She smiled and touched their hands and was so happy to see them. She loved Mickey (and her binky, as you can see in this photo. She's usually only allowed to have it at night and during naps, but she basically got anything she wanted this trip since she was so sick)!
This is after "Splash Mountain". I assured Brian we wouldn't get that wet (he didn't want to go), but we did! Were were frozen, but at least it was the last ride of the day.

Looks like fun. The first time I went to Disneyland I was 22 years old and I was actually pretty surprised at how much fun it was...even as an adult.
What's the big letter R for that you guys were standing by? Is it something obvious that I should know?
"R" for Rachel, of course! Kidding. That is the sign outside of California Adventureland that spells out California.
That looks like a lot of fun, I have always wanted to go just haven't made it there yet. As for the ear infections I think they are sneaky. Eli had one and I thought it was just a cold so I kinda let it go for too long but sometimes it's just really hard to tell what is going on with them. Kaia is so dang cute, I hope this summer we can all get together sometime.
Looks like a fun time - even with the sickness.:) What is it with kids and sand? They must be told that it is THE BEST thing on earth before they come!
